Well, today is the first day of Summer, it's time to get the barbecue out of the shed, get the patio furniture out if you haven't already and start thinking about decorating / improving your home. Rugs Uk Announces The Launch Of A Bespoke Custom Made Rug Service

For a long time we have been able to obtain rugs in custom sizes and haven't really made a big deal of it, however with the increase in the amount of customers requiring extra large rugs and custom sized rugs we thought that we should make this available.

So here it is; good news, Rugs UK now has a section including many of the rug collections that currently offer a custom size rug service enabling you to now buy the rug you want in the exact size that you require. This is a bespoke service and as with a lot of bespoke services there are additional points to consider. The first is that most rug collections will have a minimum custom size restriction, the second is that these are typically more expensive than standard sizes and the last thing that your rug will have to made and as such will take anywhere from 12-16 weeks to be completed.

Whilst offering a bespoke rug size service we regret that all rugs ordered to a custom size are non-returnable but don't worry as we will always provide a sample of a smaller rug in the design that you require so you can view it and make sure you are happy with the style, colour and quality.

A New Rug Season Dawns

The rug season is just beginning again for another year, the summer has just about fizzled out and the nights are starting to draw closer.

This season sees many new styles added. Shaggy rugs look to be set to be big again along with Flock and Damask type designs which will should continue to be popular into at least the next six months anyway. Floral design rugs seem to be making a come back which have become popular as an accessory to match the method of wallpapering just one feature wall in a room with a bright and vivid wallpaper design.

Whilst todays ever increasing popular colours of browns, beiges, and ivory are most likely going to be with us for another year; this year should see these colours spread throughout the furnishing industry to provide an abundance of cushions, fabrics, curtains and other furnishings.

As always rugs follow fashion and it is expected that burnt orange, teals, duck eggs and other vivid colours are going to become extremely vogue like they currently are in the fashion industry. Some people insist that black and grey is out although it is still very popular but may not be by the end of the year. There is a big shift towards traditional designs becoming more and more popular and with the quality of Polypropylene becoming so good, more and more of these are being produced in traditional designs. People are finding it increasingly more difficult to tell the difference between Polypropylene and wool and because of this the number of traditional Polypropylene rugs made and sold is increasing.

Childrens Rugs & New Rug Collection Additions This Year!

Rugs Uk are proud to announce some new additions to our childrens rugs collections this year. As promised we have expanded this section. Our collection has become enormous and we now have the largest selection of children's rugs online, anywhere in the world.

Some of our latest childrens rugs collections include the 2008 Childrens Acrylic Rug collection which are great for younger children. Designs include popular animals from the farm and zoo, seaside themes and some motorcars for the boys. These rugs are acrylic, hard wearing and feature designs for both boys and girls.

We are also proud to announce the Star Rug collection which features some funky rugs that feature hippy designs, these designs are vivid, bright and colourful and really will bring a room to life. Ideal for children's bedrooms and other areas of the house where you wish to spread the love so to speak.

Once again our non slip rugs have proved popular and we now have many more character rugs added including the popular children's character; Spiderman, which are awesome even if I do say so myself! 2008 sees some super Spiderman rugs that have proved extremely popular worldwide. A great number of rug designs featuring Dora the Explorer, Disney Pixars Cars and Bratz have also been made and included in our latest childrens rugs collection. in fact our children's character rugs collection is now so extensive that I would be surprised if you couldn't find a children's bedroom rug featuring the character that you require.

Also new for 2008 are the puzzles rugs/non slip mat collection. These rugs/mats feature popular Disney characters and are made from EVA foam, easily cleaned with soap water or can be wiped clean with a wet rag. They are non-toxic. They can be used indoors and outdoors and will fit together with each other so you can build huge play areas with your favourite characters. EVA Foam does not absorb water so these mats are completely waterproof. These mats are fleshed with gripping to promote "anti-slip" and all feature official licensed character designs.

There are an enormous amount of other new rug collections added this year as well. Two of our favourite collections include the Sierra Rug Collection and The Lakeland Rug Collection, both of which are plain rug collections. The Lakeland collection has to be viewed, it features semi worsted shag pile wool which is absolutely awesome, really funky and definitely in this season whilst the Sierra Rug Collection features a great number of hand tufted and carved textured wool rug designs that are sure to look great in any home whether your decor be modern of authentic.

These rugs promise to be future collectors items and are sure to impress everyone that sees them. A superb edition to any contemporary home and a strong talking point i'm sure. These rugs are for the people who are looking for something truely individual and very different. Well Winter truly is here, it's cold and dark, the weather has changed for the worst and the temperature is continuing to drop, after a very variable autumn this is going to come as a shock to us all. Yes, it's time to wrap up warm, dig that scarf and hat out from the cupboard and find those gloves that you havn't seen for a year. Christmas is coming and every shop has their Christmas head on already. Every year it seems to come earlier and earlier; this year is no exception.

Here at Rugs uk we are getting ready for the huge Christmas rug rush, where everybody wants a rug and they want it in time for Christmas in order to create that feeling and look of style, warmth and comfort in their home for the festive season. Some of our collections are already starting to sell out, resulting in a few of our more popular collections only having limited stocks available. Don't worry though we still have huge stocks of many other collections.

This month's favourite collections seem to be our modern acrylic rugs, especially the Harlequin Rug Collection and the Matrix Rug Collection. Both of these rug collections offer great value and have an enormous selection of modern rug designs available to choose from in order to create that cosy warm winter feeling. Well Autumn has arrived and the nights are starting to draw in. This is when the rug season really starts for us with many people starting to think about making their homes more cosy. People tend to stay in a lot more and almost hibernate so to speak. Rugs add warmth and depth to a room and create that feeling of being cosy.
